River Bottom Farms Campground Another great family campground to spend some time in your RV is River Bottom Farms Campground. It has a pool, an arcade, and a playground, so the kids will have lots to do to stay entertained. If you stay for a longer trip, you'll be glad to know the campground offers a laundry room. You'll also appreciate the store for any purchases you need to make. River Bottoms Farms Campground is at 357 Cedar Creek Road. Lake Aire Campground Last but not least is Lake Aire Campground. Located about an hour from Orangeburg, this RV park is a great place to go to enjoy some time away. It has 92 large RV sites with full hook-ups, and most of the sites are pull-through. You can go fishing in the private stocked lake or enjoy swimming in the large pool. The campground also has horseshoe pits, a playground, and laundry facilities. Orangeburg, South Carolina, is known as Garden City for a reason. The city is surrounded by green areas and outdoor spaces that are begging to be explored. Whether you're new to the area or simply looking for somewhere new to venture to, we have several places we think you'll enjoy. To help you decide which places to visit, we've put together a list of three reasons outdoor enthusiasts love Orangeburg. more Congaree National Park Less than an hour outside of Orangeburg, you'll find Congaree National Park. The drive is worth it, as there is so much to do while you're there. The park offers over 25 miles of hiking trails, over 2 miles of boardwalk, and even a marked canoe trail to take you to Cedar Creek. You do need to bring your own kayak or canoe to travel the waterway, but this is a wonderful way to experience the park. You can see otters, deer, and maybe even an alligator. Several other activities are also available within Congaree. Fishing is allowed with a valid South Carolina fishing license in all areas of the park. If you're looking to truly tune into nature, you can rent a tent campsite and stay the night. You can find Congaree National Park in Hopkins at 100 National Park Road. Edisto Memorial Gardens Natural and human-made beauty mesh perfectly to give you Edisto Memorial Gardens. When you arrive, you're greeted by the Lady Fountain and can see the 5 acres of luscious azalea flowers. You can view over 79 rose beds, with varieties ranging from miniature to old garden roses. Edisto Memorial Gardens is home to some 4,800 rose plants with varying colors. You'll also find a playground and a greenhouse with a nursery. A 2,600-foot boardwalk will take you through a tupelo-cypress wetland between the Display Garden and the Edisto River. Take a walk and enjoy the butterfly garden, serenity garden, and sensory garden. They're open to the public, but only to groups of three or fewer, so remember to split your groups up accordingly. The gardens are located at 200 Riverside Drive SW. Santee State Park Santee State Park is on the edge of Lake Marion. This wildlife area is a wonderful place to go bird watching, fishing, or even head out on a boat for a day of fun on the lake. A park for the kids to play on and swimming areas offer more opportunities for recreation. If you'd like a short hike, check out these nature trails: the one-mile Limestone Nature Trail, the one-mile Oak Pinolly Nature Trail, and the half-mile Sinkhole Pond Nature Trail. The 7.5-mile Hiking/Biking Trail is perfect if you're really looking to get a workout while connecting with nature. You'll find Santee State Park at 251 State Park Road.
