There's also a 2,600-foot boardwalk that will take you through the natural wetland located next to the Edisto's north fork.
You'll want to visit throughout the year, as the park hosts a number of events, including the Festival of Roses held every May and the Children's Garden Christmas, which is a dazzling drive-through light display.
2. Lake Marion

Several trails of varying difficulty are located throughout the park and impressively display its diverse terrain and vegetation. The Oakridge Trail features a field of large oak trees inhabited by deer and wild turkeys while the Fork Swamp Trail runs along an oxbow lake that was carved out by a hurricane in the 19th century. Avid kayakers won't want to miss out on the Cedar Creek Canoe Trail, a winding 15-mile trek across the Congaree's wilderness.
